Our Life, Our Lens
(2022 - ongoing)
Our Life, Our Lens is a collaborative photographic project in partnership with Laundry Gallery and supported by the Smith Family. The program champions the power of photography to create positive change in remote Indigenous communities of the Northern Territory.
These workshops provide a platform for young people to express their unique viewpoints and document their lives and surroundings. The images created by participants in the Garrthalala homeland, a coastal paradise two hours south of Yirrkala in East Arnhem Land, reflect their creativity, vision, and cultural heritage. This project not only fosters artistic growth but also strengthens community bonds and preserves the rich narratives of Indigenous youth.

In collaboration with Troppo Film Lab, we are proud to launch Our Life, Our Lens, a project that champions the stories of the next generation of elders. Through a series of film photography workshops in remote communities, this initiative empowers young people to develop skills, collaborate, and share their perspectives—unbiased and unfiltered.
